"Waterloo Sunset" - The Kinks

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine
Terry meets Julie, Waterloo Station
Every Friday night
But I am so lazy, don't want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I don't feel afraid
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine
Millions of people swarming like flies 'round Waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And the don't need no friends
As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset
They are in paradise

Waterloo sunset's fine

"Yippee ki yay, Mr Falcon."

Trafalgar Square used to be particularly famous for its pigeons, with feeding them a popular activity for Londoners and tourists. However, the resulting pigeon droppings uglify the buildings and damage the stonework, and the flock, estimated at its peak to be 35,000, was considered to be a health hazard.

Consequently, the sale of bird seed in the square was outlawed in 2000, feeding pigeons outlawed in 2003, and feeding any birds outlawed in 2007. In fact, there is now a trained falcon on site to keep the birds away...
